MOXI™ for sun spots and age spots treatment at Glow Beauty Lab
What it is

Built for sun-exposed skin

MOXI™ is a fractional 1927 nm laser on Glow's Sciton® platform, cleared for the coagulation of soft tissue, the treatment of actinic keratosis, and the treatment of benign pigmented lesions such as lentigos (age spots), solar lentigos (sun spots) and ephelides (freckles). Living on the coast means accumulated sun exposure, and that is precisely what this treatment is cleared to address. It is often planned as a short series with low downtime.

  • Cleared for benign pigmented lesions — age spots, sun spots, freckles
  • Cleared for the treatment of actinic keratosis
  • Fractional delivery, so downtime stays low
  • Suits sun-exposed coastal skin
  • Frequently planned as a short series

MOXI™ for sun spots and age spots questions

What does MOXI treat?

Benign pigmented lesions — age spots, sun spots and freckles — plus actinic keratosis and coagulation of soft tissue. Those are its cleared indications. We do not market MOXI for wrinkles, fine lines, texture or pores, because those are not among them; microneedling is the honest route for texture and fine lines at Glow.

What is actinic keratosis?

A rough, scaly patch caused by long-term sun exposure that is considered precancerous. It should be diagnosed by a clinician, and anything suspicious is referred rather than simply treated cosmetically.

What is the downtime?

Skin is typically pink and warm for a day, then develops a fine sandpaper texture as tiny darkened spots work their way to the surface and flake off over several days. Your provider will tell you what to expect for your skin before you book anything time-sensitive.

Is it safe in summer, and for my skin tone?

Timing, recent sun exposure, skin type and pigment history all affect whether and how it should be done. Sun protection before and after matters a great deal. This is assessed individually, not assumed.

MOXI or a BBL photofacial?

Broadly: BBL also addresses visible redness and small vessels, MOXI is fractional and used for benign pigmented lesions. Some plans use both. Your provider will explain which fits what you actually want changed.

How many treatments?

A short series is common, then reviewed. The number depends on how much pigment is present and how your skin responds.
