Laser hair removal, medically supervised treatment at Glow Beauty Lab
What it is

Long-term reduction, not a quick fix

Forever BARE BBL® treats in continuous motion with cooling, which spreads energy more evenly than single-pulse hair devices and is generally more comfortable. The Sciton® platform is FDA-cleared for the removal of unwanted hair and for stable long-term, or permanent, hair reduction — a lasting decrease in the number of hairs that regrow, not the permanent removal of every hair. Hair grows in cycles, so a series is planned rather than a single visit.

  • Cleared for stable long-term, or permanent, hair reduction
  • In-motion delivery with cooling for comfort
  • Face and body areas treated in one visit
  • Fewer ingrown hairs than shaving or waxing
  • A series planned around your hair-growth cycle

Laser hair removal, medically supervised questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?

The cleared claim is permanent hair reduction — a stable, long-term decrease in the number of hairs that regrow after a completed series. It is not the permanent removal of all hair, and occasional maintenance is common. Anyone promising permanent removal is overstating what the technology is cleared to do.

How many sessions will I need?

Hair grows in cycles and only actively growing hairs respond, so a series is planned. Your provider will give you a schedule after assessing your hair, skin and the area being treated rather than quoting a fixed number up front.

How should I prepare?

Shave the area about 24 hours before. Stop waxing, plucking, threading and epilators about four weeks before, since the follicle needs to be present. Avoid sun, tanning beds and self-tanner for at least two weeks, and arrive with clean, dry skin and no deodorant, lotion or makeup on the area.

What does it feel like, and what happens after?

Most people describe a warm snap, eased by the built-in cooling. Temporary redness, warmth or small follicle-like bumps are common for a day or so. Avoid heat, sweating, friction and irritating actives for 24–48 hours, protect the area from sun, and let shedding hairs fall out rather than plucking them.

Is it suitable for my skin tone?

Suitability depends on your skin type, recent sun exposure, hair colour and medical history, so it is assessed in person. Very light or grey hair responds poorly to light-based treatment regardless of skin tone.

Who performs the treatment?

Laser treatments at Glow are performed by South Carolina–licensed medical professionals under medical supervision, after an individual evaluation.
