Microneedling with an exosome topical, the honest version

What this treatment is, what it is not, and why we describe it carefully.

Microneedling with an exosome topical, the honest version treatment at Glow Beauty Lab
What it is

The procedure does the work

This is a microneedling treatment. Controlled micro-channels stimulate the skin's own repair response and collagen remodelling — that is the part with established support behind it. Afterwards an exosome-containing topical is applied to the skin as an included post-procedure serum. We do not inject it. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles studied for their role in cell-to-cell communication, and that research is genuinely interesting, but it is research: no exosome product is FDA-approved, and we make no claim that it treats, cures or prevents anything.

  • Collagen-induction microneedling as the core treatment
  • An exosome topical applied after, included in the visit
  • Depth and spacing planned for your skin
  • Clear, honest expectations set before you book
  • Performed under medical supervision

Good to know

Microneedling with an exosome topical, the honest version questions

Is the exosome topical FDA-approved?

No. There are no FDA-approved exosome products. The FDA has said that exosome products intended to treat diseases or conditions in humans are regulated as drugs and biological products and require approval, and that none has been approved. The product used at Glow is supplied as a cosmetic topical. It is not a drug, and we make no claim that it treats, cures, prevents or diagnoses any condition.

Do you inject it?

No. It is applied to the skin after your microneedling treatment. That distinction matters, and we are precise about it.

Then why offer it at all?

Because the microneedling itself is a well-supported treatment, and the topical is a post-procedure serum some patients want included. We would rather explain exactly what it is than market it as something it has not been shown to be.

Will it give me better results than microneedling alone?

We cannot promise that, and we will not imply it. The evidence for exosome topicals in aesthetics is early. If you would prefer standard microneedling, that is a completely reasonable choice and your provider will say so.

What does the appointment involve?

A numbing step, the microneedling pass planned for your skin, then the topical applied afterwards. Expect tightness and a flushed look for a day or two, similar to a mild sunburn.

What is the aftercare?

The same as any microneedling treatment — no makeup, heat or strenuous exercise for 24 hours, then gentle cleanser, moisturiser and SPF 30+. Full detail on our microneedling aftercare page.
